The West Point Scholars' Bowl Team is the reigning ASCA Div. II State Champions!  These kids work very hard every day after school and have earned invitations to State and NATIONAL Championship Tournaments. Unfortunately, travel, lodging, and registration for all these events are extremely expensive. Therefore, we humbly request the assistance of friends, family, alumni, and the community at large to help us. Every donation helps us. Thank you all in advance for your support!

Scholars' Bowl Funding

West Point's Middle and High School Scholars' Bowl Teams have established a tradition of success over the past several years. We have won many local and state championships, and have placed highly in National Tournaments. As such, more opportunities to compete are opening up for us. These kids have worked very hard and have earned the right to compete on the national stage at various National Championship events around the nation.

We have depended upon hosting numerous tournaments each year to pay for registration, hotels, gas, van rentals, food, etc. for our tournaments. Unfortunately, due to COVID, we have not been able to host any tournaments this year. We usually go through around $10,000 per year, which we raise ourselves through tournament fees and donations. A large portion of this comes from the kids' parents helping to pay our expenses.

As our team continues to work hard and improve, more opportunities are opening up for them to compete all over the state and all over the nation. However, this is very expensive. We are hoping that the community will step up and donate to help us with our costs. These kids deserve to compete with the best in the country each year. We can't do that without financial support!

Meet Ghost, our facility dog at Hanceville Elementary School!
He was trained by Service Dogs of Alabama and has over 2 years of training and experience working in schools. Ghost's job is to provide intervention for students in need. Ghost will serve all of the students of Hanceville Elementary, which includes students with specific needs. He is helpful assisting students to regulate their emotions, and calming down students who are struggling with anger or anxiety. He is trained to assist with student transition and in reducing disruptive behavior. Ghost will do classroom visits, participate in small groups and one on one counseling sessions.

To offset the costs of supporting our esteemed four-legged faculty member, we are raising funds.  Our goal is to raise $750 each school semester.  Given our modest fundraising goal, all increments of generosity are sincerely appreciated!  Please consider supporting this unique and truly beneficial cause.

More About Ghost
"I am an almost four year old Labrador Retriever. I have had extensive training from Service Dogs of Alabama to work at HES as a facility dog. My training has included learning how to work with children of different ages and various needs. I have learned so much from my training and now I am ready to start my dream job at Hanceville Elementary. I am fully vaccinated, receive regular vet care, and grooming. Lucky me!"

Hanceville High School Football has a reputation for excellence and success that has been built over many years, thanks to the hard work and dedication of our players, coaches, and loyal supporters. To continue this proud tradition and take it to new heights, we are excited to introduce the Bulldog Football Infinity Campaign!

This ongoing fundraising campaign is specifically designed to generate additional resources for our teams, allowing us to compete at the highest level and provide our players with the best equipment and resources available. We are encouraging participation from all members of our community, and any contributions, no matter how small, are deeply appreciated.

As part of the Infinity Campaign, we are seeking support for some important projects that will benefit our team and our community as a whole. These include the purchase of new helmets and shoulder pads, which are crucial for player safety, as well as planned renovations to our fieldhouse and irrigation on our practice fields.

We are asking all of our supporters to consider making a recurring donation to the Infinity Campaign, so you can set it and forget it, knowing that you are making a meaningful contribution to our team's success. Your support will make a real difference in the lives of our players, coaches, and our community. Join us in supporting the Bulldog Football Infinity Campaign today.

Thank you for your ongoing support ... and as always, go Bulldogs!

Journals
I enjoy offering students options for their projects. One option I like to offer is keeping a journal. Your donation will place a journal in a student's hand. We are looking to purchase a journal for 54 students from Amazon at 4 dollars apiece. Please direct any questions about this need to Braxton Pitts at 205-269-8256 or bpitts@ccboe.org

'The Little Mermaid" Field Trip at UNA

I would love to take my 6th grade band members and my cast for 'The Jungle Book Kids' to a performance of "The Little Mermaid" as done by the Shoals Symphony on April 29th. Though the program is free, I would love to provide this trip at very little cost to my students. This donation would cover the travel costs for the trip. Any money after that would go toward the student's meals for the day.

Speaker for the Music Room

The Vinemont Elementary Music Department is in need of a new speaker that can keep up with the growth of our student body. Not only will this speaker be great for performances; but, it will also be used for everyday lessons in the music classroom that build on skills such as matching pitch, listening skills, and more. At the moment, Ms. Richard is using a small bluetooth speaker or her projector for music playback and instruction. Thank you again for supporting the students at VES.
